Right now you have an excellent opportunity to try out 2IC Security Services to join the team at the Mirrabooka Plaza Shopping Centre. This position will be responsible for assisting with the oversight of day-to-day operations and site performance and will provide visible leadership, direction and support to ensure a consistent level of efficiency and effectiveness. This is a “hands-on” role, and the 2IC will also undertake regular patrols, on-site training, supervision and guidance.

Successful candidates must demonstrate significant security and customer relationship management experience.

Scale:

Monday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm Sunday from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm

Work closely with other site managers to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction

Direct, train, support and manage the performance of security team members with the goal of building a high performing team

Liaise with local law enforcement and other identified stakeholders regarding safety issues affecting the Center and its surroundings

Take action on any accidents/injuries, near misses, equipment failures, complaints and safety-related information

This is an ‘on the ground’ leadership role that requires an active and hands-on approach.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Strong interpersonal, communication, relationship building and management skills.

Previous experience leading teams

Ability to prepare reports and documents

Ability to handle high-pressure situations with key stakeholders

A current security license with appropriate endorsements

Advanced First Aid/Advanced CPR

Ability to conduct Toolbox training sessions in small groups

Who are you

You are resilient and open-minded with excellent management and customer service skills. You will approach each situation with a safe mind, as you identify potential dangers and reduce risks wherever possible. You are a team player and will be friendly and approachable. You will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the many people who visit IKEA Logan, including colleagues, visitors, contractors and customers. You are able to adapt to changing situations, but still manage to adjust your focus to master deliverables.

You may have security experience, but this is not necessary as long as you are passionate about supporting your security and safety operations.

This role requires a current security clearance and first aid certification, but if you don’t have one, you must be willing and able to obtain one. Your time commitment includes the ability to work within limits, including morning, evening and weekend shifts.

Your responsibility

As a security officer in the employee and visitor reception areas, you will be IKEA’s voice to everyone who enters our store. This is a dynamic role and your tasks and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

Be the first point of contact to manage the entry and exit of your store for visitors, contractors and colleagues.

Demonstrates exceptional care to everyone who passes through the reception area, answering all queries and referring them to the appropriate person and/or team.

Provides a high level of administrative support with tasks such as auditing, incident reporting, database management and archiving.

Monitor and analyze CCTV, conduct investigations, respond to alerts quickly and efficiently, and initiate emergency response procedures if necessary.

Help ensure stores comply with all local and IKEA rules, guidelines and legislative requirements to protect our assets and the IKEA brand.
